It’s sad to lose one of the only bands whose shows I could bring any friend to and guarantee them a good time but I so deeply understand not wanting to be stuck without a career, on the road at 40.

Its all about reasonable expectations. As a media entity with its head permanently up its own ass, p4k is always going to have the scoop on diarrhea related news stories.

It’s humbling to revisit this and see that I was wrong about basically all of my recollections right down to the song. But man, isnt it awesome? Everyone is just having so much god damn fun. Diarrhea Forever.

One of the best live bands of all time, and they get bonus points for introducing me to Hop Along, who opened for them at a Halloween show in Brooklyn, not long before the release of Painted Shut.

Sad to hear that Turn to Gold became something of a turning point in the band’s momentum, but I kind of suspected as much – it didn’t feel like it propelled them forward in the way their other records had. I for one would love to hear whatever scraps of the fourth album exist, but I can respect their decision to leave us a complete body of work.

It’s sad to think that it may be a long time, if ever, until I get to feel the energy of songs like Raft Nasty and Separations live again, but in the wake of these shows, it’s been nice to see just how many people get it. This band mattered a lot to significant group of people, and following them will be up there among the fondest memories of my youth.

Also I strongly support throwing up whatever unreleased recordings are on bandcamp in any state. I just want more Diarrhea!
