Best Thing and GOOYOW are the two weakest songs on the new album. I don’t now why they keep pushing them. Everything else is pretty damn good. Also, performing on a floating stage with the Statue of Liberty, WTC and a blue and black night sky as the backdrop… that’s pretty damn cool, whattr you talkin about?

This!!! The decline began with ATYCLB, in my opinion. That’s when we started getting what I like to call “U2-lite.” It’s still enjoyable, there’s a great song now and then, the live show still rocks, but the new albums just don’t carry the weight or visceral impact of their earlier work.

And that it weirdly kind of works! And I say that as somebody who really does not like Imagine Dragons at all.

because everything through Zooropa is pretty flawless and forward thinking. I would even argue Pop is mostly great.

yeah, i felt like tom’s biases were made very readily apparent when reading childish gambino immediately before bruno mars. for the former, he calls it funkadelic karaoke, for the latter, he says that bruno is just staying in his lane making great pastiche and it makes him giddily happy.

I think The Love Below sounds like a bunch of half formed sketches (minus Hey Ya which is obviously one of the greatest pop songs of all time). Awaken My Love just seems more interesting for some reason. I actually love both records. Either way, calling that album funk karaoke is reductive.

Gambino is a better singer than Andre and Awaken My Love is better produced but I don’t think that means it’s a better album.

Party in the USA is a banger on the low, on the high, or where the fuck ever, honestly.

7 things is a master post break-up song tbh and ‘Bangerz’ has some solid Bangerz, Younger Now put me straight to sleep though.

I’d say creatively even if Hey Ya is a much better song than anything Gambino has come up with. As full albums, The Love Below doesn’t have a great high/low percentage. Just my opinion.

On the low… Party in the USA is a banger. Don’t know any other Miley songs.

Everyone weirdly prefers cover Miley to anything in her own discography. I think she has started to realize that.

More successful creatively or commercially? Both are wrong purely on the strength of Hey-Ya.

I enjoy both those records as well.

They’re both great albums.

Also the Lorde side eye during P!nks performance, I’m 100% here for it. I love P!nk but we are all a little salty.

If it makes you feel any better it gets so much worse as time passes. My suggestion is to stop listening to ANY new Arcade Fire immediately. Keep those old memories clean and beautiful.
