One of the most anticipated horror movies on the horizon is the Universal Monsters movie. Renfieldand that’s largely because Nicholas Cage is co-starring as Dracula himself!
Renfield hits theaters on April 14, 2023and People shared some early footage from the film’s set that gives us a taste of Cage’s take on the bloodsucking icon.
Dressed in a blood red costume, Cage’s Dracula is as pale as can be with slicked back hair, long fingernails and lots of gold on his fingers. Unsurprisingly, Cage’s Dracula is a Dracula like we’ve never seen before, though it’s hard not to draw similarities between Cage and Hammer’s iconic Dracula, Christopher Lee. However, we can expect a completely new version.

Universal Pictures is committed Nicholas Cage to play Count Dracula in the upcoming feature film Renfieldbased on an original pitch from the creator of “The Walking Dead” Robert Kirkman. Chris McKay (Tomorrow’s War) directs the film, with Nicolas Hoult (Hot Bodies, Mad Max: Fury Road) on board to embody the central character, Dracula’s henchman.
