Hawk Eye stars Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton / Hawkeye and is based on the comics by Matt Fraction and David Aja. On a family trip to New York City, he runs into trouble with the tracksuit mafia and ends up teaming up with Kate Bishop from Steinfeld. Bishop is a trained archer, whose skills rival those of Barton. At the same time, Bishop is skeptical of the actions of his mother (Vera Farmiga) and fiancé Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton). The show gives audiences a glimpse into Barton’s past, especially as Ronin, and how he shaped it. Hawk Eye Also put a lot of emphasis on Bishop, which could potentially set his future in the MCU.

Now Steinfeld spoke of Avengers: End of Game being his favorite, and the event experience that accompanies an MCU movie. In an interview with D23 inside Disney podcast (via Comic), she mentions that it’s hard to choose a favorite MCU movie, especially since there have been so many admissions since 2008 Iron Man. Check out his full commentary below:

“Yes, my short answer is yes. A favorite, it is always difficult for me to choose a favorite that I like [Avengers] End of the game. Maybe that’s it. This is Endgame until I go watch another one, then that will be that one for a while. It’s a vicious cycle of trading favorites.

But yes, I grew up watching these movies. There is something about them. It’s an experience to go and sit in a theater and watch these movies. That’s what makes you want to be in it. I mean, it’s the craziest thing, and what’s so amazing is that it’s been proven that now even watching anything MCU from home is still an experience too. I think that says a lot about the MCU and the people involved. “

Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye

Avengers: Endgame makes sense for Steinfeld’s choice, as he explored legacy characters like Iron Man and put them in the center of attention. Given that the movie was the culmination of all previous MCU movies, it made sense that the focus was on the six originals that kicked off the team. The ramifications of the film’s events also shaped everything that followed it, including Hawk Eye. it also revisited some of the main MCU events across time travel, so fans could revisit some of their favorite moments. While MCU movies have connected to each other in different ways, Avengers: End of Game really brought everything and everyone together.

Also important is Steinfeld’s comment that the MCU still feels like a home event. The Disney + shows have appeared to be longer Marvel Studios films, giving more development to characters like Barton and setting up what’s to come for the MCU. This allows fans to get even more content that has the same implications for the larger MCU than a movie. These shows were also given higher budgets, making them look the same as a movie, while trying something new. Hawk Eye is no exception, as it gives Steinfeld a chance to join something she’s a huge fan of.
