The giant megalodons are gearing up to make their big cinematic return in The Meg 2: The Trench, the sequel to the 2018 action flick that a cast member has now called an “incredibly exciting” addition to the aquatic franchise. . Sienna Guillory, who was cast in the film in January, recently revealed to Us in an interview how she thinks the upcoming film will be “incredible.”
While promoting the recently released horror film A Banquet, Guillory – who is perhaps best known for her work as Jill Valentine in the Resident Evil films – gave The Digital Fix the scoop on the upcoming Jason Statham’s outing in shark-infested waters. The star is set to star as the head of an applied science division in the upcoming film which has now started filming in London, and shared how during the first script reading for The Meg 2 she was blown away.
“I can’t say much [laughs], but it’s definitely… it’s definitely, very, very, exciting. I mean, incredibly exciting,” Guillory explained. “Yeah. I don’t know. I don’t think I have the right to say anything about anything. But I was literally reading the script in progress [mimes flipping through pages] ‘Oh!'”
Guillory went on to praise The Meg 2 director Ben Wheatly, explaining how she thinks the filmmaker will steer the sequel to new heights, exceeding all of our expectations.
“Ben Wheatley is one of my favorite directors. I worked with him on High-Rise, and he has such an understanding of true terror,” she continued. sense of humor. Yeah, such a sense of humor. So I think it’s going to be amazing.
